The poll, conducted September 7-10, 2023, surveyed 1,191 likely voters. It found that 46% of respondents believe Trump has the cognitive capability necessary to be president, while 52% do not. For Biden, the numbers are 37% and 61%, respectively.

The poll also found that more voters believe Trump is honest (42%) and has empathy (39%) than say the same about Biden (33% and 31%, respectively). However, more voters believe Biden is a strong leader (49%) than say the same about Trump (43%).

The poll's findings come as both Trump and Biden are considering running for president in 2024. The results suggest that Trump may have an advantage among some voters when it comes to questions of mental fitness.

However, it is important to note that this is just one poll, and it is possible that other polls would have different results. Additionally, the poll did not ask voters to define what they mean by "mental soundness." This could lead to different interpretations of the results.

Ultimately, it is up to each individual voter to decide who they believe is the more mentally fit candidate.

The poll's findings have been met with mixed reactions. Some have argued that the poll is biased in favor of Trump, while others have said that it simply reflects the views of some voters.

It is too early to say how the poll's findings will affect the 2024 presidential election. However, it is clear that the issue of mental fitness is one that will be debated by voters in the months and years to come.
