The letter cites congressional testimony from IRS whistleblower Joseph Ziegler, who said in June that Hunter Biden violated the Mann Act by engaging in interstate prostitution. The Mann Act prohibits the transportation of people across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.

Comer and Greene are asking the DOJ to provide information about the women who were allegedly involved in Hunter Biden's prostitution activities, as well as any evidence that the DOJ has that Hunter Biden violated the Mann Act.

The DOJ has not yet responded to the letter.

It is important to note that Hunter Biden has not been charged with any crime related to prostitution. He has denied any wrongdoing.

The allegations against Hunter Biden are politically motivated, and they have been denied by the Bidens. However, the allegations have been the subject of much media attention, and they have been used by Republicans to attack President Biden.

It is unclear what the DOJ will do in response to the letter from Comer and Greene. The DOJ may choose to investigate the allegations, or it may choose to decline to investigate.

The investigation into Hunter Biden's alleged use of prostitutes is likely to continue to be a political issue. It is possible that the allegations could damage President Biden's political standing, but it is also possible that the allegations will be dismissed as politically motivated.

Here are some additional details about the allegations:

  • The allegations against Hunter Biden first surfaced in 2020, when emails from his laptop were published by the New York Post. The emails included references to Hunter Biden's alleged use of prostitutes.
  • In June 2023, IRS whistleblower Joseph Ziegler testified before Congress that he had seen evidence that Hunter Biden had violated the Mann Act. Ziegler said that he had seen emails from Hunter Biden's laptop that showed he had paid for prostitutes in multiple states.
  • The DOJ has not yet responded to the letter from Comer and Greene. However, the DOJ has said that it is investigating Hunter Biden's financial dealings.

The implications of the allegations:

  • If the allegations against Hunter Biden are true, they could damage President Biden's political standing. The allegations could also lead to criminal charges against Hunter Biden.
  • The allegations are also likely to continue to be a political issue. Republicans are likely to use the allegations to attack President Biden, while Democrats are likely to defend Hunter Biden.
  • The investigation into Hunter Biden's alleged use of prostitutes is likely to be a long and complex process. It is unclear when the investigation will be completed, or what the results of the investigation will be.
